Are you a knife cook, or a pot cook?

I've heard people say that if you're a cook, you're either a knife cook, or a pot cook.

What does that mean? Well, from what I can understand, if you're a knife cook, and your kitchen was burning down, you'd run to save your knives. A pot cook would run to save their pots.

Personally, I'm a knife cook. How about you?

At the moment, I'm loving four knives:

Victorinox 8" chef's knife
Calphalon Katana (I believe this is the series?) 5" Santoku
Victorinox 2" (or 3" I forget) Paring knife
Henckels 10" scalloped serrated 'bread' knife.

However, I'm always interested in what others are in to, whether it's pots, or knives. Share?
