Thanksgiving wines

This is my annual urging to folks that they choose and use local wines to accompany the Thanksgiving meal.

At the very least, American wines.

Thanksgiving celebrates the successful harvest that will see us through the winter.  I tell you, someone is harvesting grapes in your state no matter where you live.  Join in celebrating that harvest.

With the Internet, no winery is too far.  Try something from outside of California.  You don't have to be too adventurous - heck Washington and Oregon wines are distributed nationally and maybe some New York too (not sure, but I think the best of NY sells out in the home Finger Lakes region).

Take a trip this weekend with your most local winery as your destination.
