Taste left in slow cooker bowl

i have noticed that my slow cooker bowl, ceramic, imparts a strong taste to new dishes.

It seems after time the bowl gets very fine cracks and a little of the liquid is absorbed into the ceramic.

Its not that i do not clean the bowl properly by the way, at least not would normally be called normal.

I left the clean seeming and empty bowl in the slow cooker and left it switched on... after a while beads of a thick liquid could be seen inside the bowl.

The taste of things cooked previously pass on to the latest food being cooked.

Any ideas/answers?
